About the role
Storyland is seeking an enthusiastic educator to lead literature workshops for students aged 6 to 15 in Shanghai. In this role, you will guide small groups of up to eight children, helping them develop a love for reading, critical thinking, and creative expression. The curriculum blends storytelling, interactive discussions, and hands-on projects.
The position features a flexible schedule during semesters and intensive schedules during winter and summer breaks. You will collaborate with a diverse team of local and international educators to design lessons, teach grammar and literary analysis, and foster healthy reading habits in a supportive environment.
Shanghai is a dynamic global hub offering a mix of historical culture and modern conveniences. The school provides comprehensive relocation assistance, including housing support and visa sponsorship, to ensure a smooth transition to life in China.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is required.
- At least 2 years of postgraduate work experience.
- Native-level English proficiency.
- Genuine passion for working with children and literature.
- Strong cultural adaptability and sensitivity.
- Commitment to relocate to Shanghai for a minimum of 2 years.
- Preferred: TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or a teaching license.
- Preferred: Experience teaching students aged 6–15.
- Preferred: Academic background in literature, humanities, theatre, or education.
