About the role
An international school in Yangon is seeking a dedicated IGCSE English and Literature Teacher. In this role, you will lead Literature courses for Years 7 through 9 and instruct Cambridge IGCSE First Language English for Years 10 and 11, alongside fulfilling Form Teacher responsibilities for your assigned group.
Day-to-day duties include designing engaging, high-standard lessons that cater to student needs, applying structured learning plans, and managing the classroom effectively. You will incorporate Cambridge resources and instructional technology to enhance learning outcomes, evaluate progress, and communicate student development regularly to department leaders and parents.
Additionally, educators participate in professional development workshops, staff meetings, and occasional off-campus field trips, ensuring a safe, collaborative, and compliant educational environment adhering to school safeguarding policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (English Literature preferred, or a degree paired with a relevant teaching qualification)
- Recognized teaching certification (TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA)
- Previous experience teaching secondary school English Literature and First Language English
- Strong familiarity with Cambridge IGCSE exam structures and preparation strategies
- Under 60 years of age
