English for Academic Purposes Teacher – Shenyang & Zhengzhou, China | AUD $1,250/week + Housing
About the role
Victoria University English is seeking qualified educators to deliver English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and IELTS preparation courses to undergraduate students. Positions are available in the vibrant cities of Shenyang and Zhengzhou, China, starting in February 2027. Teachers will work a Monday-to-Friday schedule with a manageable teaching load of up to 18 hours per week.
In this role, you will guide first- and second-year university students as they work to improve their English proficiency from intermediate levels up to IELTS 6.0. Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging EAP lessons, grading assignments, administering tests, and supporting students who need extra academic help.
Both Shenyang and Zhengzhou offer rich cultural experiences alongside modern conveniences. Shenyang is famous for its historic imperial palaces, while Zhengzhou serves as a gateway to the Shaolin Temple and boasts an incredible local food culture. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an institution where English is the medium of instruction
- 120-hour TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification
- At least two years of English language teaching experience
- Passport holder from Australia, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, the USA, or Canada
- Under 60 years of age (for visa purposes)
- Professional reference letter with a strong recommendation
- Clean background check / criminal record clearance
