Online English Teacher for Adult Japanese Students
About the role
Yamagakogyo is looking for remote English instructors to teach adult Japanese students. This online position allows you to work from anywhere in the world, provided you have a reliable internet connection and the necessary equipment.
In this role, you will conduct one-on-one English lessons via Microsoft Teams. The school provides structured PDF teaching materials, making lesson preparation straightforward so you can focus on student interaction.
The position offers highly flexible scheduling, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. Teachers are responsible for managing their own schedules and must be comfortable converting time zones to align with Japan Standard Time (JST).
Requirements
- Native English speaker
- High-speed broadband internet connection, a USB headset, and a webcam
- Minimum availability of 10 hours per week
- Strong listening skills and a professional, punctual attitude
- Ability to manage time zones effectively (operating on Japan Standard Time)
- Prior experience teaching structured lessons and a TEFL/TESOL certification are preferred but not required
Salary & benefits
Earn 750 JPY per 25-minute lesson (681 JPY during probation) with paid training and flexible hours.
