Online English Reading & Writing Tutor – Remote | USD 42–58/hr + Flexible Schedule
About the role
Shiliu Education is hiring part-time online tutors to teach English reading and writing to students in grades 3 through 12. This remote position offers high flexibility, requiring a minimum commitment of just two hours per week, with weekend hours highly preferred.
As an online tutor, you will design your own syllabi, create engaging lesson slides, and develop quizzes and handouts. You will teach small groups online and provide detailed, constructive feedback on students' written homework.
This remote role allows you to work from anywhere with a stable internet connection, offering an excellent opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance while helping students globally.
Requirements
- Native English speaker from the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, or Ireland
- Master's degree in English Literature, Education, Writing, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of English teaching or tutoring experience
- Valid TESL, TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification (or equivalent)
- Proficient in using technology for online instruction
- Ability to commit to at least 2 working hours per week
- Energetic and motivating instructional style
- Previous remote tutoring experience (preferred)
Salary & benefits
Hourly rate of $42–$58 (including bonuses and prep fees) with flexible remote hours.
