Field Worker - International Locations
About the role
First Things Foundation is looking for adventurous individuals to join their two-year volunteer program as Field Workers in international locations like Guatemala, the Republic of Georgia, and Sierra Leone. The organization focuses on community-led development by deeply integrating volunteers into local communities to listen and build relationships before starting projects.
The first eight months of the program, known as the Immersionship, are dedicated to learning the local language, securing a local job (such as teaching English or working in a local business), and building strong community ties.
In the second phase, the Creationship, volunteers work alongside community members to design and execute projects based on local needs.
Requirements
- Highly motivated and adventurous mindset.
- Willingness to commit to a two-year overseas placement.
- Openness to learning a new language and integrating into a local community.
- Interest in community development and teaching English or taking on local work.
