About the role
New Life International School, a WASC-accredited Christian mission school in Kofu, Japan, is seeking an Elementary Teacher for Grades 1 and 2. This role is on a renewable two- to three-year Seishain contract, starting in April 2027.
You will be responsible for planning and teaching core subjects such as language arts, mathematics, science, and Bible studies, alongside integrating art, music, and physical education. As part of the school's Christian mission, daily prayer with students is expected, alongside maintaining an encouraging and well-managed classroom.
Kofu is located in Yamanashi Prefecture, offering beautiful views of Mount Fuji, hot springs, and outdoor recreation. It provides a peaceful lifestyle with a reasonable cost of living compared to larger metropolitan areas.
Requirements
- Must be a native English speaker.
- Hold a degree in Elementary Education or a university degree for visa purposes.
- Possess a valid non-Japanese teaching license.
- Currently reside in Japan.
- Two years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with WASC or IB curricula is preferred.
Salary & benefits
